Finally a show in English that teaches conversation skills! A lively and funny show in which students are expected to use their smartphones.
A research regarding today’s generation shows that the most difficult part of English learning is ‘conversation’. Noticing that nowadays conversation skills are very important to live in a globalized world, we felt obliged to write a play to help students to learn these skills.
The story is divided in episodes and organized as a simple structure. It tells about two virtual assistants, Siri e Bixby, who come to life, in flesh and blood, through the interaction with the students and try to live in the real world. Our two characters, switched from the digital to the analogic world, will be led by students to explore brand new worlds and emotions. Students will make Siri and Bixby face daily life, disguised as historical figures or famous rappers. Our goal is to make students familiarize with English expressions and idioms, from simple tasks like giving and receiving directions, purchasing in shops and ordering at restaurants, passing by the touching speech of Martin Luther King, ending to a real movie set where the actors will be the students themselves.
This show is peculiar because the interaction with the audience in the stalls takes place thanks to their own smartphones. How? The company makes a free Wi-Fi connection avalaible.
At the end of each episode, students will have to fill a multiple choice quiz about common English expressionson their smartphones and the results will be published.
The top five students with the highest scores will be the main actors of the episode of the show, entitled ‘Your Speech’. The best among them will win a prize.
The purpose of the show is to make the students practice with spoken English. It is a newcaptivating and funny educational tool.
The show is designed to present a different difficulty level according to the students capabilities.
